The time on the Riding camp in Himle
I planned that I was going to a riding camp a long time before the holiday. And I decided to go to a place that is called “Smedagård”. In the beginning of the holiday I was enthusiastic to go to the camp. But the most irritating thing was that the camp was in the end of my holiday so I endured all the holiday until it only were a few days over to the camp. Then I started to pack my things. I didn't know exactly where it lay, the only thing I knew where that it was close to Varberg. Then the day was here I had packed my things and sat in the car waiting for my mother to drive me there. We followed the map and were there in an hour.
I slept in a cottage with 3 other attendants on the camp. I learned a lot on the camp, but the camp was very lazy anyway, because some riding camps are like military camps (very hard and strict) but this riding camp wasn’t like that. We were riding in groups of four. One time after breakfast it was a lesson, and one lesson on the small horses (shettisarna) after lunch. And then we road out in the nature in the evening. Except for one day when we took a long ride to another jard. It was almost nice weather all the camp, but sometimes it came a rainfall.
My vision about this camp was to learn how to jump with a horse. And I learned that, both with and without saddle. I got many new friends to, that is always a + with camps.
The camp ended after 5 days on a friday. Then we had a gymkhana for the parents. Gymkhana is an obstacle course that you do in the same time that you're riding a horse.
It was a funny camp. But I don't want to go back there, because I want to go to riding camps to learn things. And I did not learn so much things there as I wanted to.
When I came home from the camp it was only time for rest and then pack my bag for the school and meet my friends again. I thought that my summer holiday had been fun, but quite short. But now all was going to start again.
